Updates, News, and Donations
It has been a year. I swear every time I sit down to write a post, something happens that makes a blog post about my small business seem meaningless. I’m always torn with how much I should share about my personal life, but let’s just say everything from death to surgery to covid has come at us this year, and doing anything beyond keeping up with orders has been difficult. Unfortunately blog posting is one of the things that fell through the cracks. Without further ado, here is some long awaited information on site updates, shipping issues, and fundraising.
Afterpay is finally here! I have waited for a looooooooooooong time for this, but I’m happy to say it is finally a feature on the site! If you’re new to afterpay, you can break your purchase into four payments due roughly every two weeks. It calculates the payments as you add stuff to the cart, so it will always show you an accurate breakdown. To use afterpay, simply select it as your payment method on the checkout screen and follow the instructions to create an account.
Shipping to Germany has been suspended due to the German Packaging Act. I do not ship enough to Germany to justify the fee being charged to ship into the country. If there is enough demand in the future, I may reconsider, but for the time being, I apologize to my German followers. I owe an apology to my Australian customers as well. I’m not entirely sure what’s going on… at first, we were told that Australia had suspended all incoming packages in order to catch up with delays due to covid; then the USPS said that it had suspended service to Australia unless using an express method; then the USPS stopped allowing express shipments. The only way I am able to ship into Australia is with UPS, FedEx, or DHL and all of those carriers are incredibly expensive. I’m hoping that whatever is going on will sort itself out, but it’s been close to a year now and they don’t seem too whipped up about fixing it.
Every year I make up a few pieces that benefit various charities. In the wake of the overturning of Roe v. Wade, the charities in question are ones that will provide safe abortion access to those who are no longer able to receive care in their states. 100% of profits (meaning everything after my supply and listing costs) will be donated to three different charities. Those are Planned Parenthood, The Afiya Center, and The National Network of Abortion Funds. If you click on the name of each charity, a link will open to take you to their website to learn more about them. Donations will be made on the fifteenth of the month or when the total donation reaches $100. As of today, we have raised $34.33 for The Afiya Center, which isn’t bad for the products being listed for 10 days. I will post proof of donation here around July 15th, so please be on the lookout for updated totals.
As always, if there’s something you’d like to see or if you have a custom request for an existing product, please don’t hesitate to reach out via the contact form.
