FAQs

I have a question about a product, how can I get in touch?

Head on over to the contact form to send me a message. I would gladly post my email address here, but I already get way too many bot generated emails, so… Please keep in mind that TSB is a single person owned business with just little old me here to do all the work. I try to answer messages in a timely fashion, but it may take a day or two before I am able to respond. I’m also not in the studio on weekends or holidays.

How do I leave personalization?

If an item is able to be personalized, it will be stated in the description. Choose your options for any finishes that might be available and click, “add to cart”. A box will pop up to leave your personalization details.

If you’re ordering multiple items with different details, please add each to the cart separately to avoid confusion.

How long does it take to get an item?

My current production time is about two weeks. Most things will ship well before that as long as I have all the materials in stock to create the item. Tracking information is sent to the email address left at checkout at the time an item ships. Shipping transit times vary based on location, shipping method selected at checkout, weather, seasons, and basically the overall mood of the USPS and whatever else will attack in 2020… Godzilla? Giant meteors? Another pandemic?

USPS First Class mail averages about a week, USPS Priority mail is about 4 days, International is usually 3-6 weeks, but is unpredictable when processing through customs.

Do you have any discount codes or sales?

Yes. But they are completely random and happen whenever I realize I haven’t had one in a while. They are almost always announced on Instagram, except for the secret ones that are for mailing list subscribers only. So I would definitely sign up and follow me. Also, there may or may not be a completely secret code hidden somewhere in my blog. Muahahahahaha.

Can you make XYZ or get ABC?

Uhhhh, maybe? If you have an idea for a custom item, shoot me a message via the contact form. If it’s something I can’t do, I generally know someone who can and I’m always happy to recommend a fellow metalsmith. If you are looking for components such as a 14k Italian made box chain, the answer is no. There are plenty of supply stores around that can get you exactly what you need and a simple google search will help you out there. I sell finished pieces only.

I tried messaging you on Instagram / TikTok / Twitter / Facebook and didn’t get a response…

So, I don’t use any of those apps on a regular basis, and I don’t ever check DMs. Why? Well, partly because I barely know how to navigate these apps and partly because the majority of the messages I get are SPAM, scams, or are photos of anatomy that I really don’t want to see. If you have a question please just message me through the contact form. It is by far the quickest way to get in touch.

How do I fill my urn item? Does it come with a funnel? Do you provide glue? What kind of glue do you recommend? How do I get the ashes into the funnel?

Each urn item comes with a fill kit that includes instructions on how to fill your item, a mini funnel, screwdriver (if your piece needs one), and a polishing cloth. It does not come with super glue because the USPS considers it to be a hazardous material. In order to ship super glue, it has to be sent UPS, which means the shipping charge is often times more than the cost of the urn item. When you factor that in with the fact that most people have a bottle of super glue kicking around somewhere (and if they don’t, you can get a bottle for under $5 at most major retailers), it’s just not practical for me to send it. That being said, any clear drying super glue will work. I’ve used Loctite in the past as well as Gorilla and both have held up well. The easiest way to get the ashes into the funnel is using a spoon. Most of my urn items are keepsakes meant to only hold a tiny amount of ash, so start small and add more as needed. It is also important to know that not all cremation ash is the same. Some remains have larger fragments and tend to have a bigger grain than others. If your ash is on the (for lack of better word) chunkier side, it may not fit well in a smaller urn.

That’s really all you got for FAQ’s?

…yeah… there will probably be more added here, but I sat down to fill out the page and now suddenly everything I get asked hourly / daily has vanished from my head… However, you can see all of my policies using the links at the bottom of every page.
