A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, I decided I wanted to combine my book addiction with my love of making (partially to try to get me out of my current creative slump) and this is where the magic (hopefully) will happen. I’m going to try to keep this updated with bookish content and maybe even social media that I will update more frequently {nervously chuckles in TSB Instagram last updated in November}

While I am a huge lurker on BookTok and Bookstagram, creating my own book place is new, so this will always be a work in progress and it will definitely take a bit to find my footing. I have created a rating system that I will use in my recaps and featured reviews. The reviews may differ slightly from my Goodreads reviews because I have more control when it comes to ratings here.

Some of what I read does have spicy content, so each review will feature a star rating as well as a chili pepper rating (CP). Below is what the stars / chili peppers mean to me and they may differ to you, and that’s fine. Also, if I hated a book you love or vice versa, that’s fine too. We all have things we like and don’t like.

My rating system:
0 stars - Did not finish / finished and despised the book
1 star - Had little to no redeeming value / upset I wasted my time
2 star - Was ok, probably not for me
3 star - Enjoyable book, probably won’t reread but might recommend
4 star - Really liked it, will recommend, might reread
5 star - This book is now my personality

Spice Scale:
0 CP - No spice
.25 CP - Little bit of romance
.5 CP - Little bit more romance
.75 CP - Basically what you’d see in a Disney film
1 CP - Implied smexy time
1.25-1.75 CP - Implied, fade to black, thinking about smexy time
2 CP - Non graphic, smexy time on the page
2.25-2.75 CP - Multiple non-graphic on the page smexy scenes OR one graphic smexy scene
3 CP - Graphic but vanilla smut
3.25-3.75 CP - Multiple well described but tame smexy scenes OR one non-vanilla smut scene
4 CP - Most reverse harems / graphic smut
4.25-4.75 CP - Lots of graphic smut
5 CP - This is porn

My recaps will be once a month, with a list of what I’ve read. They’ll basically be a bulleted list with the title of the book, the author and then rating. The rating will be a star / spice rating like so:
Book Title by Author 3*/1CP
In depth reviews will come when I have a break from TSB to focus on an in-depth review. I will also be featuring one book a month as my “muse” book. I will announce the book at the end of each month, so January’s pick will come in February with a project to be posted.

As I said, this is all a work in progress, so it is all subject to change. But I hope you will join me on the reading journey and give me recommendations for future reads!
