Please Be Kind - The 2020 Christmas Postal Nightmare
Just when you thought the nightmare that has been 2020 was winding down… BAM! COVID is everywhere, we’re worse off than we were earlier this year and now every shipping carrier is slammed and nothing is getting through.
Every small business group I’m in is dealing with this issue. Seller’s are being accused of purposely ruining Christmases, not shipping packages, and being incompetent. I have had my fair share of abuse, and I understand the frustration behind it. Please know that everyone is dealing with this and your anger should not be taken out on a small business owner or your postal carrier. We are all doing the best we can in an extremely messed up situation. Sellers are also buyers, and besides supplies that have disappeared into the void, I have several presents for my family that are stuck in transit. To make matters worse, the USPS isn’t scanning packages as they should, resulting in things looking like they’re just sitting at sorting facilities.
While it doesn’t make up for not having the items you ordered, please feel free to download and print this card to let your gift recipient know that there is something headed their way. All carriers are working as fast as they can to get packages delivered as quickly as possible. Rumor has it, the USPS will even be delivering Christmas Day to try to relieve some of the backlog.
In case you haven’t been aware of the delays, here are some articles to let you know what’s been going on.
