How I Spent My Summer Vacation + Things To Look Forward To This Fall
It’s hard to believe that summer is almost over, but the kids have gone back to school, the leaves are turning, and tomorrow it’ll be Christmas and then suddenly it will be 2020!
I took some time off this summer to spend with Allison of Creations by Accident. Since it was her first time up north, we did typical touristy things… drove through the Adirondacks and stopped at all the places that looked interesting; ogled all the historic buildings in downtown Albany and toured the never-ending museum inside The Egg; Drove into Boston and explored the North End before hopping on the commuter rail to Salem and wandering around the museums there; and shopping in downtown Saratoga before joining the Haunted Saratoga tour.
Now that fall is upon us, I’ve been trying to take this little time before the holiday rush to organize my studio and come up with ideas for new items. I’m looking back at the pictures we took and using them as inspiration for things to come. A lot of what I’ve been working on seems to be either nature themed or gothic in tone. It’s an odd sort of juxtaposition of peace and meditation and dark witchy/monster pieces. I mean, it’s pretty perfect for Halloween, but I’m hoping things will translate to the everyday as well.
I’m also working on the launch of the first limited collection. I have a few pieces ready to go that I will post previews of on Instagram as the time gets closer. I aiming for a December 1st launch. All the pieces will be ready to ship, so they’ll be perfect for Christmas gifts.
I’ll also be announcing my annual sale in November. As always, the first twenty five orders will receive a free gift and the discount code will be announced on my Instagram page. There will also be a scavenger hunt this year, but I’ll talk about that more when the sale gets closer ;)
